BLACKSHEAR BASSMASTERS CLUB INFO.

About Our Club

The Blackshear Bassmasters are members of the State and National B.A.S.S. Federation, an organization that encompasses the entire United States and at least two Foreign Countries. We hold our monthly meeting on the third Tuesday of each month in Americus, GA. Each tournament date and lake is voted on by the club members at the meetings, one month in advance. The only stipulation being, that the Club will not hold a club tournament on any one lake more than three times in one year.

Members compete in the monthly club tournaments in hopes of finishing in the Top 6 in point standings for the year. These top six members are then eligible to fish in the Georgia B.A.S.S. Chapter Federation Top 6 Classic. This tournament normally has 90-95 teams (almost 600 anglers) competing for the top twelve spots. Anglers that finish in the Top 12 at this tournament qualify for the Georgia State Team and compete in the B.A.S.S. Southern Division Tournament. From this tournament Divisional teams are formed and a "GIANT" step is taken to the National B.A.S.S. Federation Tournament. These anglers are treated like "THE PROS" at the "CLASSIC", and the four anglers that lead their divisions team are invited to fish in prestigious "BASSMASTERS CLASSIC". This is how any bassclubber whose club is affiliated with the Federation, has a chance to be one of those amatures fishing among the "PROS" in "THE GRANDADDY TOURNAMENT" of them all.
